The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) officially opened the 2026 Indonesian Navy Sports Week (PORAL) at Trisila Field, Navy Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Monday (13/7/2026). This grand event serves as a stage for more than 1,400 soldiers from various major commands (Kotama) to showcase their physical abilities and sportsmanship.

First Admiral TNI Tunggul, the Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal), stated that the competition, scheduled to run for four days, features five popular sports: football, volleyball, lawn tennis, table tennis, and badminton.

Furthermore, First Admiral TNI Tunggul explained that PORAL 2026 carries three strategic missions. First, this event serves as a means to forge the physical fitness of soldiers, which is a vital element in supporting the smooth execution of daily operational official duties.

Second, this competition is designed to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between units within the Indonesian Navy. Through interaction on the field, it is hoped that the internal solidarity of the institution will become even stronger and well-maintained.

Finally, PORAL 2026 is an important instrument for the Indonesian Navy to scout talent. The institution is committed to recruiting promising young athletes who are expected to bring honor to the Indonesian Navy, both in national and international sports arenas.
