The Bojonegoro Regency Sports Week (Porkab) II 2026 event officially serves as a strategic stepping stone for the sport of karate. Held from June 27 to July 11, 2026, this competition is not merely about pursuing medal tallies, but acts as an objective selection medium to recruit talented young athletes to strengthen Bojonegoro in the 9th East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov Jatim IX).

The karate matches held over two days at GOR Sumberejo on July 6–7, 2026, drew considerable enthusiasm. A total of 76 athletes from 22 sub-districts in Bojonegoro passed administrative verification to compete across 96 match classes. This enthusiasm reflects the high potential of local karate talent evenly distributed across the regency.

Chairman of the Porkab II Organizing Committee, Mujib Amrillah, explained that this event serves to map athlete strength from various corners, ranging from urban areas to remote districts. The mapping results will later serve as a reference in designing the Puslatkab (Regency Training Center) program, allowing athlete development to be conducted more strategically and evenly in the future.

Meanwhile, Chairman of FORKI Bojonegoro Regency, Dr. H. Moh. Zainal Arifin, offered words of encouragement to all participants. He emphasized that success at Porkab is only the beginning. He reminded winners not to become complacent quickly, while advising those who did not reach the podium to keep practicing consistently. Achievements at the regency level are expected to serve as a strong foundation for Bojonegoro karateka to compete more effectively at provincial and national levels in the future.
