Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) is preparing a major breakthrough for the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) EXPO XVII in 2026. As the host, Unsoed proposes transforming the annual event into a sustainable digital business ecosystem through integration with national marketplace platforms.

This strategic idea was presented directly by the Unsoed delegation during an audience with the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Wamen Diktisaintek), Prof. Fauzan, in Jakarta on Wednesday (29/7/2026). This step was taken to ensure that students' innovative works do not end up merely as exhibition displays, but rather level up into real businesses with a broad market reach.

Led by the Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs of Unsoed, Prof. Dr. Ir. Norman Arie Prayogo, the delegation also included the Head of the Career Development and Entrepreneurship Unit (UPA), Dr. Ratna Stia Dewi, and the Chairperson of the Unsoed Career Portal, Niken Istikhari Muslihah. They believe that collaboration with the digital industry will open up real market access for young entrepreneurs.

According to Prof. Norman, KMI EXPO must serve as a concrete stepping stone for the birth of resilient young exporters and entrepreneurs in the digital era. With this sustainable system in place, the promotion of students' featured products can continue online even after the physical exhibition ends.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Ratna Stia Dewi emphasized the importance of a three-pillar synergy between academia, government, and the industrial sector. For her, post-competition mentoring and providing access to business networks are key to producing independent university graduates capable of creating new job opportunities.

This innovative plan was warmly welcomed by Prof. Fauzan. The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology assessed that this digital integration model could serve as a national blueprint for other universities in Indonesia in building a student entrepreneurship climate that is adaptive to technological developments.
