The board of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) of Jeneponto Regency for the 2026–2030 term of office has been officially inaugurated. The inauguration ceremony was led directly by the Chairman of KONI South Sulawesi Province, Darmawansyah Muin, on Thursday (23/7/2026).
The solemn ceremonial event was also attended by the Regent of Jeneponto, Paris Yasir, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and representatives from various local sports branch committees.
After being inaugurated, the new Chairman of KONI Jeneponto, Darwis Nojeng, emphasized his commitment to immediately close ranks. He called for the importance of synergy and collaboration among board members to advance the sports climate in the region known as Butta Turatea.
Darwis emphasized that this responsibility is a major mandate to recruit and nurture local athletic talent. The hope is that athletes from Jeneponto will be able to compete and achieve outstanding results at the regional, national, and international levels.
Echoing this sentiment, the Regent of Jeneponto, Paris Yasir, expressed his high appreciation for the formation of the new board. He hopes that KONI Jeneponto can implement a more professional, measurable, and sustainable athlete development model to bring honor to the region.
