After nearly two decades without the addition of new private medical facilities, Tegal City has officially operationalized Harapan Sehat Hospital. The presence of this hospital is expected to expand access and strengthen the quality of healthcare services for the community in the Western North Coast (Pantura) region of Central Java.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that Harapan Sehat Hospital is a breath of fresh air for the regional healthcare ecosystem. So far, Tegal City has served as a strategic medical referral center for residents from supporting areas such as Tegal Regency, Brebes, Pemalang, all the way to Cirebon.

Luthfi also appreciated the investment steps taken by PT Ati Sri Subekti Sehat in building the medical facility. According to him, building a hospital is not just business-oriented, but a real step toward fulfilling the basic rights and needs of the public in the health sector.

Furthermore, the presence of this new private hospital is believed to synergize with Central Java Provincial Government programs, such as the Mobile Specialist Doctors (Speling). The program is designed to reach rural communities that have previously struggled to gain access to specialist doctors.

With the addition of this medical infrastructure, the availability of health workers and specialist doctors in the Central Java region is expected to become more evenly distributed. This step is expected to significantly narrow the gap in healthcare services between urban and rural areas.
