The IDX Composite (IHSG) managed to maintain its position in the green zone, parking at the 6,064 level at the close of the first trading session on Thursday (7/16/2026). The domestic stock index recorded an increase of 22.49 points or equivalent to 0.37 percent compared to the previous close.

Research from Phintraco Sekuritas mentioned that the pace of the IHSG's strengthening this time was supported by the positive performance of the property and raw materials sectors, in line with positive sentiment blowing from global markets. Throughout the first half of today, the IHSG fluctuated in the range of 6,024 to its highest level at 6,076 after opening at 6,056. Trading transactions were observed to be quite active, with transaction value reaching Rp7.52 trillion from a volume of 15.46 billion shares traded.

Sector-wise, the basic materials sector index (IDX Basic Materials) led the gains with an increase of 1.39 percent. The property sector (IDX Property) followed with a 1.03 percent increase, followed by the infrastructure sector (IDX Infrastructures) which rose by 0.76 percent. On the other hand, the deepest decline was experienced by the industrial sector (IDX Industrials), which slumped 1.07 percent.

In the LQ45 index blue-chip stock group, PT Wifi Networks Indonesia Tbk (WIFI) emerged as the main driver after soaring 11.35 percent to the level of Rp2,060 per share. Shares of PT Harta Djaya Karya Tbk (HRTA) and PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) also recorded gains of 6.81 percent and 4.52 percent, respectively. Conversely, the deepest decline was led by PT ESSA Industries Indonesia Tbk (ESSA), which weakened 2.46 percent to Rp595 per share.

The strengthening trend of WIFI stock was also seen in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) with a similar jump. In addition, the rupiah exchange rate was observed moving positively in the foreign exchange market, strengthening by 40 points or 0.22 percent to Rp18,020 per US dollar in midday trading.
