The tourist area of Anyer Beach in Serang Regency, Banten, remains crowded with tourists during the school holiday period. The high enthusiasm of visitors persists despite volcanology authorities placing Mount Anak Krakatau on Level III Alert status.
In response to this situation, the police, through the Vital Object Protection Unit (Satpamobvit) of the Cilegon Police, have increased surveillance along the coastline. Inspector Second Class (Ipda) Yogie Faisal, Head of the Vital Object Protection Unit of the Cilegon Police, emphasized that this measure was taken as a preventive effort to ensure the safety of the public engaging in activities in the tourist area.
"We urge all tourists to remain calm but to stay highly vigilant. It is very important for visitors to obey instructions from field officers and to promptly follow evacuation procedures should the situation turn into an emergency," Yogie said in Cilegon, Monday (6/7/2026).
According to the latest report from the Mount Anak Krakatau Observation Post, volcanic activity of the volcano in the Sunda Strait still shows gas emissions from the crater and continuous tremors. Consequently, the Alert status remains in effect until further data updates are available.
The Cilegon Police also urge the public not to be easily influenced by unverified information. Tourists are expected to monitor official communication channels from authorized agencies to obtain accurate data regarding volcanic activity and safety guidelines during their vacation in the Anyer Beach area.
