KAI Commuter has officially begun implementing cutting-edge air purifier technology called Nanoe X in Commuter Line trains. This innovative step is part of the company's commitment to prioritizing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles to improve service quality and comfort for all public transport users.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, explained that this device actively filters various harmful particles in the air. The technology is specifically designed to inhibit the growth of viruses, bacteria, mold, and pollen, ensuring that the air circulation inside the cabin remains clean throughout the journey.
In addition to health aspects, the use of Nanoe X technology is also claimed to neutralize unpleasant odors that often linger in train interiors. The effectiveness of this device has been globally tested, including in Japan's modern railway systems, making it a new standard for creating safe, healthy, and worry-free public spaces for passengers.
Currently, the installation of the device is still in a limited trial phase, implemented on one unit of the JR205 series (SF12) commuter train for the Bogor route. During the testing period, the operator will conduct a thorough evaluation of the device's performance before plans are made to gradually implement it across the entire operating fleet.
The main advantage of Nanoe X technology lies in its high durability and minimal maintenance requirements due to its self-releasing ion system. With a more even distribution coverage compared to conventional air ions, KAI Commuter is optimistic that this innovation will provide a much fresher travel experience for the public using the Commuter Line in the future.
