The Banten Provincial Government is urging the public to be more active in utilizing the Free Health Check-Up Program as a preventive measure to maintain physical fitness. This appeal was delivered directly by the Governor of Banten, Andra Soni, during the Healthy Movement Splendor of the Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) held at the Banten Province State Building Courtyard, Serang City.
According to Andra Soni, the paradigm of health sector development has now shifted. The government's main focus is no longer just treating sick people (curative), but rather prioritizing promotive and preventive efforts through early detection of disease risk factors to realize a healthy and productive society.
The Prolanis program is specifically designed to assist people with chronic diseases to ensure they continue to receive ongoing medical care. This tactical step is expected to reduce the risk of dangerous complications while keeping the patients' quality of life optimal in the long run.
In addition, Andra also emphasized that Banten residents who fall into the Contribution Assistance Recipient (PBI) category of BPJS Kesehatan now enjoy easier access to services. The regional government is committed to simplifying administrative processes and handling if citizens encounter obstacles when accessing health facilities at any time.
Deputy Regional Director IV of BPJS Kesehatan, dr. Yessi Kumalasari, added that there are currently 358,801 Prolanis participants recorded in the Banten region, with 21 percent of them actively joined in health clubs. For now, these clubs are still prioritized for people with diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
The health campaign event was enlivened with various interactive activities, ranging from mass gymnastics, supporting examinations, to medical consultation services. At the end of the event, Andra Soni, accompanied by Tinawati Andra Soni, took the time to review the operations of the Banten Provincial Government's Mobile Clinic and the free eye examination services from Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital.
