PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) has begun taking innovative steps to raise service standards for its users. The company is currently conducting a trial installation of an air-purifying device featuring Japanese Nanoe X technology on one of its Commuter Line train sets.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, explained that this initiative embodies the company's commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pillars, particularly in environmental preservation and passenger health. Nanoe X technology is claimed to be capable of filtering invisible pollutants from the air, including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and pollen.
Furthermore, the device excels at neutralizing unpleasant odors that often cling to train interiors. With a clean air dispersion duration reaching up to 600 seconds, the technology is designed to evenly reach every corner of the cabin, providing more optimal health protection for passengers during their journey.
For the initial phase, installation is focused on the JR205 (SF12) train set operating on the Bogor line. KAI Commuter is currently closely monitoring the device's effectiveness in the field before considering plans to expand installation to other train sets.
Similar technology has long been implemented in modern train transport in Japan. With high maintenance efficiency due to its self-releasing system, KAI Commuter is optimistic that this innovation will provide a much fresher, cleaner, and more comforting travel experience for loyal Commuter Line users.
