UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung has once again solidified its presence on the national stage through a brilliant achievement at the 3rd Gender-Responsive Higher Education (PTRG) Award for Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI). The campus managed to win two award categories at once, namely Main Rank Gender-Responsive Higher Education as well as the award for Best of Innovative Sustainable Program.
The awards were presented directly during the Consolidation and National Conference of the Center for Gender and Child Studies (PSGA) of PTKI, which took place at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon from June 30 to July 3, 2026. This achievement is a form of appreciation for the university's dedication to integrating gender equality values into the educational system through the active role of PSGA.
Head of PSGA UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Irma Riyani, explained that this success was inseparable from the full support of the university leadership, particularly through the provision of a gender-responsive budget. One of the flagship innovations that caught attention was the WANI application (Wadah Aman Ngalaporkeun Insiden / Safe Space for Reporting Incidents). This digital-based application is designed as a secure reporting system that also embodies a philosophy of courage for the academic community in fighting against all forms of violence on campus.
On the other hand, Secretary General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Phil. Kamaruddin Amin, emphasized the importance of PSGA's role in addressing national challenges. He encouraged the institution not merely to be an academic space, but to deliver real impact in addressing crucial issues such as stunting, family resilience, and accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The presence of the UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung delegation, accompanied by the Head of LP2M, Dr. Setia Gumilar, and the PPKS Task Force, demonstrated collective synergy within the campus environment. This achievement is expected to spark enthusiasm among all university elements to continue innovating in realizing an inclusive, gender-just higher education institution free from all forms of violence.
