Sultan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University (UIN) Riau has once again reinforced its role in enhancing the quality of human resources in the education sector. Through the opening of the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) held on Sunday (5/7/2026), 368 participants began their journey to earn professional certification to meet the challenges of an increasingly dynamic educational world.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Amirah, M.Pd.Kons., highlighted the importance of this momentum for educators. She reminded them that with a national certification queue reaching 75,000 teachers, PPG participants are expected to make the most of the 48-day learning period to transform into teachers who do not merely deliver material, but also make a real impact on students' growth and development.

Rector of UIN Suska Riau, Prof. Dr. Hj. Leny Nofianti, emphasized that the teaching profession carries a great moral responsibility. For her, educating is a noble trust that must be grounded in integrity and ethics. As an Islamic-based university, UIN Suska Riau is committed to integrating the mastery of modern science with a strong foundation of etiquette and character.

Responding to the rapid wave of digitalization, Prof. Leny stressed that technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) is merely a tool. She believes that the human touch, empathy, and the formation of moral values are the exclusive domain of teachers that cannot be replaced by any machine sophistication.

In addition to the PPG implementation, the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Suska Riau also announced the opening of registration for Master's degree (S2) programs in Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education (PGMI) and Islamic Guidance and Counseling Education (BKPI). Registration for the postgraduate programs remains open until mid-July for academics wishing to deepen their teaching competencies.
