Officers of the Bogor City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) conducted a sudden inspection of a night entertainment venue (THM) in the Jalan Merdeka area, Central Bogor, in the early hours of Wednesday (8/7/2026). This firm step was taken in response to a viral video of a brawl circulating on social media last weekend.
The Head of the Bogor City Satpol PP, Pupung Wahyu Purnama, stated that the officers' presence aimed to clarify the incident and audit the operational legality and permits for selling alcoholic beverages at the location. The THM management argued that the recorded brawl occurred outside the cafe area, but officers will still conduct a deeper investigation.
"We have requested the management to attend the Satpol PP office to provide more detailed information regarding the actual chronology of the incident. We need to investigate if there are other operational violations," Pupung said when confirmed by the media.
During the on-site inspection, officers found dozens of bottles of Class B and C alcoholic beverages (miras) being sold without valid permits. In fact, the venue was only licensed to sell Class A alcohol. A total of 35 bottles of illegal alcohol were subsequently confiscated by officers as evidence.
Following these findings, Satpol PP officially issued a first warning letter to the operator. Pupung emphasized that his party would not hesitate to apply harsher sanctions, including temporary suspension of operations, if similar violations are found in the future.
