The Regent of Blora, Arief Rohman, officially inaugurated the Blora Regency contingent that will compete in the XVII Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) 2026. The inauguration ceremony took place solemnly at the pendopo of the Blora Regent's official residence on Saturday (4/7/2026), in preparation for the provincial-level sporting event to be held in Greater Semarang from October 25 to 31.
In his address, Regent Arief expressed pride and optimism for all participating athletes, coaches, and officials. He emphasized that every member of the contingent serves as a regional ambassador bearing a great responsibility to uphold the dignity and reputation of Blora Regency at the provincial level. The regional government has also committed to preparing bonuses as a token of appreciation for athletes who achieve success.
Regarding performance targets, Regent Arief hopes the Blora contingent can maintain its strong performance from the previous edition, or even improve it with the ambition of breaking into the top ten. To ensure the smooth operation and success of this mission, the Vice Regent of Blora, Hj. Sri Setyorini, has been appointed as the Head of the Contingent to lead the delegation throughout the competition.
The Chairman of KONI Blora Regency, Setiyono, detailed that out of the 59 sports branches contested in this year's Porprov, Blora Regency successfully qualified athletes in 37 sports. In total, the Blora contingent consists of 347 members, including 243 athletes and 104 coaches and officials, who will compete across 206 event numbers.
Setiyono stated his team's readiness to meet the regional government's expectations, determined to maintain the 6th rank previously achieved. He also expressed deep appreciation for the continuous support from the Blora Regency Government, Forkopimda, and various stakeholders who have shown great attention to sports development in the region.
