Amidst the rapid digitization of lifestyles, a unique initiative has emerged to bridge the gap between digital entertainment and spiritual activities. The Roblox Muslim Community (RMC) is now present as a creative space that utilizes the popular gaming platform Roblox and the communication app Discord to package da'wah and Islamic literacy in a way that is relevant for Generation Z.
The founder of RMC, Alfi Maulana, shared that the community's journey began with a simple idea. Without large funding or an established organizational structure at the beginning, he started with only the desire to provide an inclusive space for religious learning in a virtual environment that is usually only viewed as a gaming platform.
"Da'wah must be able to be present where the community is, without losing the Islamic values that are its foundation," Alfi said when sharing his experience. For him, utilizing platforms like Roblox is a strategic step so that values of goodness can reach young audiences in a space that is already a part of their daily lives.
Over time, this community grew rapidly and organically. Studies that were once only attended by a handful of people in the virtual world have now transformed into a hub for discussion, connection, and character building. The Discord platform is also utilized to the fullest as a communication hub to strengthen networking among members outside the main study sessions.
The results are quite significant. In just four months, RMC has managed to gather more than 20,000 members on Discord, as well as tens of thousands of followers on various other social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. This exponential growth proves that creative digital da'wah strategies hold their own appeal for modern society.
