The Government of East Wejim Village in Raja Ampat Regency, Southwest Papua, has begun implementing the distribution of the Village Fund (DD) Phase I for the 2026 Fiscal Year. The handover of various assistance packages was led directly by the Head of East Wejim Village, Festus Dimara, during an inaugural meeting with local residents on Wednesday (29/7/2026).
In this empowerment program, the village government distributed five units of outboard boat motors sourced from the 40 percent allocation of the first phase of the Village Fund. In addition to the marine transportation equipment, Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) was also distributed to five beneficiary families who had passed strict verification through village consultations.
Festus Dimara emphasized that the selection process for BLT recipients was conducted openly to ensure the assistance is well-targeted and accountable. Data collection is ongoing so that residents who meet the criteria but have not been accommodated in this phase can be proposed for the next period.
Not only focusing on the economic sector, this assistance also targeted youth and women's empowerment. The village government handed over a set of football jerseys and balls to the local youth organization to celebrate the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Meanwhile, the PKK women's group received kitchen equipment assistance to support community social activities.
Through this comprehensive assistance distribution, Festus hopes that the productivity and welfare of families in East Wejim can gradually improve. He also invited all elements of society to continue maintaining the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) to advance sustainable village development.
