Former national athlete and retired police officer, Police Grand Commissioner (Ret.) Drs. Parluatan Siregar, M.H., is realizing his grand vision to nurture the younger generation in his hometown of Padangsidimpuan. Through the construction of an integrated area in Pokenjior Village, Padangsidimpuan Angkola Julu District, he seeks to provide a professional platform for future athletes.
Parluatan is no stranger to the national sports world. At the 1993 SEA Games, he wrote his name into history by breaking the 1,500-meter running record. Equipped with extensive experience as a former athlete and his dedication in the police force, he is now focusing on instilling discipline and a strong character in children through sports.
The area he is developing includes the Kaisar Waterpark recreational facility, educational facilities ranging from vocational high schools (SMK) to Islamic junior high schools (MTs), and a comprehensive sports center. Slated for completion in September this year, the complex is designed to accommodate at least 12 sports disciplines, including athletics, swimming, weightlifting, and martial arts like judo, with standard-compliant facilities.
Furthermore, Parluatan aims to establish a Sports College. This step is taken to integrate sports science, sports psychology, and performance management into the development system. He believes that the combination of natural talent and modern scientific support is the key to producing athletes capable of competing at the international level.
For Parluatan, this project is a form of dedication to pass on the legacy of the fighting spirit he once had. He hopes that this facility will not just be physical infrastructure, but a center of growth for Padangsidimpuan's young talents to bring honor to their region and nation on the global stage.
