The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes for South and Central Kalimantan (Kanwil DJP Kalselteng) has provided assurances that the public's personal data and tax information remain strictly confidential. This clarification was issued to dispel circulating rumors regarding the alleged involvement of local territorial officers in retrieving taxpayer data down to the village level.

Head of the Advocacy, Services, and Public Relations Division of Kanwil DJP Kalselteng, Moch. Luqman Hakim, emphasized that the Circular Letter of the Director General of Taxes Number SE-8/PJ/2026 does not grant authority to Babinsa (village supervisory officers), Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officers), or village officials to access the personal data of citizens. He assured that there are no instructions for local officers to conduct field inspections or hunt for citizens' tax data.

According to Luqman, the entire process of administration, data collection, and tax compliance monitoring remains solely within the jurisdiction of DJP employees. This aligns with the prevailing tax regulations in Indonesia without involving external parties outside the authority.

On the other hand, DJP is currently continuing to mature its digital transformation through a more modern administrative system. By utilizing information technology and risk-based data analysis (risk-based approach), compliance monitoring is now conducted more accurately, objectively, and efficiently without the need for random mass inspections.

To avoid misunderstandings, the public is urged to be more selective in filtering circulating tax information. Official and verified information can be accessed directly through the official DJP website, verified social media accounts, the nearest tax office, or through the contact center service Kring Pajak 1500200.
