The Bogor Regency Government is finalizing plans to reorganize the Gunung Mas Rest Area located in the Puncak tourist area, Cisarua District. This strategic step was taken to integrate the rest facility with the Gunung Mas Agrotourism destination to present a more integrated and attractive tourism concept.
The Regional Secretary of Bogor Regency, Ajat Rochmat Jatnika, explained that this reorganization is designed to boost the local economy and provide extra comfort for travelers. This integration concept will implement a one-way flow system, where visitors enter through the Gunung Mas Agrotourism gate and exit through the rest area.
In addition to aligning the entrance and exit access, the physical improvements will also target several supporting infrastructures within the area. The Bogor Regency Government plans to arrange the front area for the sub-district police office (Polsek), increase proper sanitation facilities, and beautify public spaces so that this area can be optimally utilized by tourists and the community around Cisarua.
This revitalization project is targeted to run in phases, with hopes that the new face of the Gunung Mas Rest Area will be fully functional as one of the main pillars of Puncak tourism by 2027. This plan also received a warm welcome from PTPN I Regional 2 as the area management partner.
Legal and General Assistant of PTPN I Regional 2, Asep Zenal Muttaqin, assessed that this integration would be a comfortable rest solution for tourists, especially while waiting for the implementation of the one-way traffic engineering system (open-close) that is often applied on the Puncak Route. The presence of this new rest area is also expected to have a multiplier effect on the improvement of the creative economy sector, especially for local MSMEs.
