The Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) National has officially initiated the "Active Indonesia Movement" (Gerakan Indonesia Aktif) as a strategic step to expand public participation in physical activities. Through this movement, KORMI aims to campaign for the importance of sports habits to realize a healthier and fitter society evenly across the country.

Secretary-General of KORMI National, Kemalsyah Nasution, revealed that the main vision of this national movement is to popularize sports and sportize the society. Strong synergy between Sports Parent Organizations (INORGA), government institutions, the private sector, and various local communities is key to the successful implementation of this program on the ground. He conveyed this during the "Bincang Bugar" (Fitness Talk) discussion event at the East Kalimantan Governor's Office Complex, Samarinda.

The Active Indonesia Movement is supported by five comprehensive main program pillars, namely Minggu Bugar (Fit Sunday), Sport Festival, the National Community Sports Festival (FORNAS), KORMI Akademi (KORMI Academy), and Bincang Bugar. Each program targets a different aspect, ranging from grassroots participation to improving organizational governance.

The Minggu Bugar program utilizes public spaces such as car-free days and city parks to facilitate casual family physical activities. Meanwhile, the Sport Festival is held at the regional level as a venue for various INORGA to showcase their activities, as well as a means of direct public education regarding the diversity of community sports.

KORMI also focuses on internal improvement through KORMI Akademi, which aims to improve the quality of human resources and organizational management. On the other hand, Bincang Bugar serves as an interactive public education space through podcasts and open discussions, while FORNAS remains the national pinnacle event that has a positive impact on the creative economy and regional tourism sectors.

Kemalsyah emphasized that the benchmark of success for the Active Indonesia Movement lies not in the quantity of events held, but in the consistency of the community in exercising through groups that match their interests. Providing broad access to information is considered an important bridge so that the public can easily find the right sports community.
