Sad news has enveloped the country's industrial sector following the passing of senior business figure and politician, Rachmat Gobel, in the early hours of Friday (10/7/2026) at Brawijaya Hospital Tebet, Jakarta. The departure of the 63-year-old figure leaves a deep impression on the Indonesian business community, which knew him as a key driver of progress in the manufacturing sector.
Chairwoman of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo), Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, expressed her deep condolences over the passing of the deceased. According to Shinta, Rachmat Gobel was a crucial figure who consistently prioritized innovation and human resource development to increase the nation's competitiveness in the global market.
"The Indonesian business world has lost one of the figures who made a major contribution to the development of the national industry. He successfully demonstrated how the business community can work in harmony with the government to strengthen our industrial ecosystem," Shinta said in her statement.
