Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) Purwokerto has made an important breakthrough in preparation for hosting the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) EXPO XVII in 2026. As the host, the campus is committed to transforming the annual event from a temporary exhibition into a sustainable digital business ecosystem for student entrepreneurs.

This strategic idea is realized by partnering with national marketplace platforms to expand market access for products created by KMI EXPO finalists. This plan was presented directly by the Unsoed delegation during an audience with the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Fauzan, in Jakarta on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

The Unsoed delegation was led by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Ir. Norman Arie Prayogo, accompanied by the Head of the Career Development and Entrepreneurship Unit (UPA), Dr. Ratna Stia Dewi, and the Chair of the Unsoed Career Portal, Niken Istikhari Muslihah. During the meeting, they discussed the integration of downstreaming student products so that they do not stop after the exhibition ends.

Prof. Norman Arie Prayogo emphasized that KMI EXPO must become a real stepping stone for the birth of young entrepreneurs in the digital era. According to him, students need direct access to the real market so that their pioneer businesses can survive and continue to grow in the long term through digital collaboration.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Ratna Stia Dewi added that the three-pillar collaboration between academia, government, and the industrial sector is crucial in creating resilient young entrepreneurs. Through this digital ecosystem, students not only compete but also receive regular mentoring and access to a wider business network.

This initiative received a warm welcome from Prof. Fauzan. The collaborative step with the marketplace is considered a progressive leap that can serve as an example for other universities in Indonesia in building a student entrepreneurship model that is adaptive to modern technological developments.
