The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) showed resilience in the green zone until the close of the first trading session, Monday (6/7/2026). Despite facing pressure at the opening of the market, the index managed to record a gain of 0.18 percent or 10.81 points to the position of 5,864.
Based on data from Phintraco Sekuritas, the index moved dynamically since opening at the 5,893 level. Throughout the session, the JCI recorded a daily high of 5,936, while the lowest level touched 5,876. Activity on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) was observed to be quite active, with transaction values reaching Rp4.74 trillion from 9.85 billion shares traded.
Today's strengthening of the main index was driven by the technology sector, which surged 0.82 percent, followed by the healthcare sector with an appreciation of 0.14 percent. However, this growth was limited by weaknesses in the infrastructure sector, which fell 0.59 percent, the transportation sector, which corrected by 0.51 percent, and the basic materials sector, which dropped 0.43 percent.
On the other hand, the currency market recorded pressure on the rupiah exchange rate. The rupiah currency was at the level of Rp17,990 per US dollar, weakening by 45 points or about 0.25 percent compared to the previous session.
