The Civil Coalition of Anti-Corruption Society (KOSMAK) is taking seriously the development of the alleged corruption case involving former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah. The coalition assesses that this case is the tip of an iceberg, indicating much larger and more structured corrupt practices behind the scenes.
The organization highly appreciates the Indonesian National Police's Anti-Corruption Corps (Kortas Tipikor Polri), which has initiated an investigation. The primary focus of the current investigation includes alleged coal quality manipulation resulting in losses for state electricity company PT PLN, as well as links to major corporations such as PT Asabri, Krakatau Steel, PT CBS, and PT KNI.
KOSMAK representative Carrel Ticualu explained that his organization was the reporting party for the alleged coal manipulation, which is estimated to have cost the state up to Rp5 trillion. According to data compiled by KOSMAK, investigators have secured significant evidence from searches across 13 locations, including 74 kilograms of gold bars and foreign currency totaling Rp475.8 billion.
Furthermore, Carrel emphasized that current revelations have only scratched the surface. Based on KOSMAK's internal investigation, there are at least six other unrevealed alleged corruption offenses suspected of involving the same individual. The coalition hopes this law enforcement momentum will lift the veil on corrupt practices that have remained untouched by authorities until now.
