The Regency Government of Banggai Kepulauan officially sent off the participants of the Indonesian Medical Internship Program (PIDI) who have completed their service at Trikora Salakan Regional General Hospital. The graduation ceremony, which took place on Monday (3/8/2026), was attended directly by the Deputy Regent of Banggai Kepulauan, Serfi Kambey, who expressed his appreciation for the young doctors' dedication during their service.
The ceremonial event was also attended by the Head of the Health Department, the Acting Director of Trikora Salakan Regional Hospital along with management, heads of regional agencies, and local healthcare workers. The presence of these stakeholders reinforces the government's full support for developing the competence of medical personnel in the island region.
In his speech, Deputy Regent Serfi Kambey expressed his deep gratitude for the tangible contribution of the internship doctors in serving the community. According to him, the experience of serving in an island region offers unique challenges that can hone social sensitivity, clinical skills, communication, and medical professional ethics before they enter a broader field of service.
Furthermore, Serfi emphasized that the Banggai Kepulauan Regency Government is fully committed to continuously improving the quality of local healthcare services. This strategic step is being pursued by upgrading medical facilities and infrastructure, increasing the capacity of human resources, and expanding the reach of healthcare services so they can be enjoyed equally by all levels of society.
Closing his remarks, the Deputy Regent advised the newly graduated doctors to uphold their professional oath and prioritize empathy and integrity in their duties.
