The Provincial Government of South Sumatra officially launched the logo, mascot "Si Bara", and theme song for the 2nd Provincial Recreational Sports Festival (Forprov) in 2026. The launch event, combined with a healthy mass exercise, took place colorfully at the Plaza GOR Pancasila, Muara Enim Regency, on Sunday (26/7).

Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, emphasized the important role of the Indonesian Community Recreational Sports Committee (KORMI) as the main forum for building physical fitness and health in society. Unlike KONI which focuses on achievement sports and professional competition, KORMI focuses on recreational and traditional sports without overriding the potential achievements of the dozens of sports under its umbrella.

In his speech, Herman Deru urged all regional heads in South Sumatra to actively revive various sports, both under the auspices of KONI and KORMI. He also highly appreciated Muara Enim Regency's readiness to take on the role of host for the provincial-level recreational sports event.

According to the Governor, the appointment of Muara Enim as host must be utilized optimally to drive the local economy. The hospitality, culinary, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sectors are expected to feel the direct economic impact of the presence of participants and spectators who will crowd the area.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Muara Enim, Hj. Sumarni, declared her region's full readiness to make Forprov II a success, which is scheduled to take place starting November 20, 2026, coinciding with the 80th Anniversary of Muara Enim Regency. The event is projected to attract around 5,000 people, consisting of sports enthusiasts, coaches, officials, and supporting members of the public from various corners of South Sumatra.
