Police officers along with a joint team conducted a large-scale raid on several karaoke entertainment venues in Sumedang Regency on Saturday (1/8/2026) night. This tactical step was taken as an effort to suppress potential public security and order disturbances (kamtibmas) in the area.

This integrated operation is part of the Enhanced Routine Activity (KRYD). The operation involved various security agencies, ranging from the Sumedang Police, TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), Military Police, Kodim (District Military Command), to the local Public Order Agency (Satpol PP). Sumedang Deputy Police Chief, Police Commissioner Sungkowo, emphasized that this raid was carried out under direct instructions from the Regional Police Chief and the Sumedang Police Chief to ensure the situation in the region remains conducive.

During the sweep of various nightlife spots, officers seized dozens of bottles of unauthorized alcoholic beverages. In addition to securing the alcohol evidence, police also took one individual to the police headquarters for further investigation.

Not only did they seize alcohol, but the joint team also conducted on-site urine tests on karaoke visitors, both male and female. Based on the rapid test results, all visitors tested negative and were declared free from narcotics abuse.

Until now, the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satres Narkoba) of the Sumedang Police is still conducting an in-depth investigation regarding the alleged distribution of alcoholic beverages at the location. Meanwhile, a thorough investigation is also being carried out on the detained individual to determine their involvement in the legal violations.
