Beyond the security sector, maritime connectivity became a major focus through the planned development of Sabang Port in Aceh, which will be synergized with infrastructure in India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The integration of this sea lane is expected to accelerate economic growth and foster closer people-to-people interactions between the two nations.
In the economic and energy sectors, Indonesia and India plan to accelerate a preferential trade agreement and implement a cross-border QR payment system for efficient financial transactions. Furthermore, both countries have begun exploring ambitious collaborations in renewable energy and technology sharing for peaceful nuclear development.
The health sector was also a key agenda item, with Indonesia placing high hopes on knowledge transfer and capacity building for national medical personnel.
