The Pacitan Regency Government, through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports (Disparbudpora), is hosting a series of collaborative sports competitions. This agenda, involving various sports branch (cabor) administrators, is organized to enliven the celebration of the 2026 Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
Head of the Youth and Sports Division of Disparbudpora Pacitan, Dimas Aji Putu Praja, stated that this series of competitions was designed synergistically. Close cooperation with sports administrators is expected to increase active community participation and enliven independence celebrations at the regional level.
One of the opening events that successfully drew public attention was the inter-village futsal tournament titled "Galdes Futsal Competition #6 2026". The competition, held in collaboration with the Pacitan Regency Futsal Association (AFKAB), saw Arjowinangun Village secure 1st place, followed by Hadiwarno Village in second, Purworejo Village in third, and Baleharjo Sub-district in fourth.
The sports festivities in Pacitan Regency are set to continue until August. Following the end of the futsal tournament, the Bridge sports branch also officially began its championship on Wednesday (29/7/2026).
As the highlight of the event in August 2026, Pacitan is preparing to host a prestigious regional-scale event, the Pacitan Surf Festival 2026, integrated with the East Java Wave Surfing Provincial Championship (Kejurprov). This event is aimed at highlighting the great marine tourism potential of the region nicknamed the "City of 1001 Caves".
Through these various sports agendas, the Pacitan Regency Government hopes not only to foster a spirit of nationalism among residents but also to scout new talented athletes while optimally boosting the regional tourism sector.
