The Governor of Jambi, Al Haris, directly led the coordination meeting to prepare for welcoming the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in 2026. During the meeting held on Wednesday (22/7/2026), the Governor emphasized the importance of synergy among all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to ensure the success of this annual event.
Al Haris instructed each OPD to be actively involved and take on roles as the organizing committee in accordance with the agreed division of tasks. This step was taken to ensure the entire series of events runs smoothly and is well-structured.
According to Al Haris, this year's independence celebration is designed not just as a formal ceremony, but also as a means to make a real impact on public welfare. Various community programs have been prepared, ranging from flag ceremonies, development parades, solemn reflections, to public entertainment.
To ease the economic burden on citizens, the Jambi Provincial Government will also host a cheap food program providing basic necessities at affordable prices. In addition, free health check-up services will also be provided as a form of social care from the regional government to its citizens.
Meanwhile, in the sports and community sector, the celebration will be enlivened by mini-soccer competitions, padel tournaments, a fun walk, and joint gymnastics. This series of activities is expected to strengthen the relationship between the government and the people of Jambi while also reviving the spirit of nationalism.
