Officers from the Tapalang Sector Police (Polsek) acted swiftly to dismantle a cockfighting gambling operation located in a remote area of Marurinding Hamlet, Kasambang Village, Tapalang District, Mamuju Regency. The raid was conducted after officers received complaints from local residents who were disturbed by the illegal activity.

Tapalang Police Chief, Police Inspector Second Class (Iptu) Amiruddin, revealed that the perpetrators deliberately chose a location in a mountain valley to hide their activities. The terrain leading to the site is difficult and can only be accessed on foot, about 700 meters from the nearest settlement.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspected gamblers had already fled. In the area, police only found the remnants of the fighting ring, scattered chicken feathers, and several chicken carcasses, which serve as strong evidence of gambling activities.

Responding to this, Iptu Amiruddin emphasized that his team will continue to intensify regional patrols to eradicate all forms of social ills. The police also urged residents not to get involved in gambling activities and to immediately report actions that have the potential to disturb public order.
