The Paser International Table Tennis Championship (ITTC) 2026, held at the Sadurengas Sports Hall (GOR), officially closed on Sunday (27/7/2026). This prestigious event successfully shattered the negative stigma that has long characterized Paser Regency as a remote area difficult for outsiders to access.
The Regent of Paser, Fahmi Fadli, stated that the presence of athletes, coaches, and officials from various parts of the country as well as six Asian nations—namely Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, and Cambodia—is concrete proof of the easy access to the region. He appreciated the participants for being able to compete safely and comfortably.
This international-scale tournament, participated in by representatives of 25 sports clubs, is considered an important stepping stone. According to Fahmi, in addition to being a competition stage, this event also opens up space for socio-cultural interaction for the local community while introducing the region's tourism potential globally.
The Paser Regency Government hopes that the successful hosting of the ITTC 2026 will strengthen the position of East Kalimantan's southernmost region as a premier sport tourism destination. Regent Fahmi also invited the delegates to return and participate in a similar championship planned for next year.
