An extraordinary event occurred in the forest area of Mount Salak, Sukabumi Regency, when a man was found alive after being reported missing for nearly three years. The discovery began when local residents were checking a river flow after heavy rain, where they found a man sitting confused on mossy rocks.
The man was later identified as Ayi Solehudin, a resident of Cianjur Regency who had been searched for by his family since three years ago. When found, Ayi's physical condition was very concerning; his body appeared extremely emaciated, he suffered from severe dehydration, and had difficulty speaking or walking independently.
After being successfully evacuated on a stretcher by residents, Ayi was immediately taken to the local district office for identification via retina and fingerprint scans. This process confirmed that the man was indeed Ayi Solehudin, who was reported missing after leaving his home for the Mount Salak forest area.
The family explained that Ayi had a history of mental health disorders that worsened after both of his parents passed away. A habit of isolating himself in the forest had been his lifestyle pattern, but during the incident three years ago, he failed to return. Although there were occasional reports of his presence in several different locations, he always disappeared back into the forest before his family could retrieve him.
To date, it has not been confirmed in detail how long Ayi had been surviving deep inside the Mount Salak wilderness. Given his extremely weak condition, it is strongly suspected that he struggled to survive with very limited resources during his missing period.
