A total of 23 journalists belonging to the Tapin Journalists Association (Aswat) from Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan, held a benchmarking study visit to the Secretariat of the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI) in Bali Province. The meeting, which took place in Denpasar, aimed to strengthen relations between press organizations while serving as a forum for sharing knowledge related to the development of the cyber media industry.
The delegation of journalists from South Kalimantan was warmly welcomed by the Head of Organization, Cadreization, and Membership (OKK) of JMSI Bali, Rudianto, along with the Treasurer of JMSI Bali, Jeffry Karangan. In his remarks, Rudianto appreciated the initiative of Aswat Tapin and hoped that this visit could open up wider opportunities for future collaboration, including plans for a reciprocal visit to Tapin Regency.
Rudianto also presented the profile of JMSI Bali, which now oversees 18 local cyber media companies. He explained various strategic work programs currently underway, such as digital literacy education for the community, wise social media campaigns, and holding continuous journalism classes to boost the competence of member journalists.
A representative from Aswat Tapin, Herman Hidayat, revealed that Bali was chosen as the benchmarking location due to its reputation as an international tourism destination with a dynamic media ecosystem. Through this visit, the Tapin journalists want to delve deeper into strategies for maintaining the business sustainability of cyber media and learning tourism news writing techniques that can attract public interest.
The results of this study visit are expected to be adapted by Aswat journalists to promote the local potential of Tapin Regency more effectively. This synergy is also expected to strengthen the capacity of journalists in both regions in building a healthy, innovative, and professional cyber media ecosystem.
