The Regent of North Central Timor (TTU), Yosep Falentinus Delasalle Kebo, emphasized that the Chiefs of Community Health Centers (Kapus) in his region must position themselves as health sector leaders in the field, not just healthcare facility administrators. He conveyed this during an official briefing to all Kapus across TTU Regency at the local Health Office Hall on Tuesday (21/7/2026).
According to Regent Yosep, the role of the Community Health Center Chief is highly strategic as they are at the forefront of local government services that interact directly with the community. Therefore, he demanded that the leaders of these first-level health facilities actively build cross-sector synergy and always be present among the residents to respond to every complaint.
"As public officials, we must not close ourselves off to public input and aspirations. Be humble yet maintain strong confidence in carrying out duties," said the TTU Regent in his address.
In addition to the social community approach, the Regent also highlighted the importance of internal improvements. He urged for increased discipline among state civil servants, optimization of patient care management, and the use of accurate health data as the primary basis for policy formulation and innovation in healthcare facility work programs.
On the other hand, the health sector is also encouraged to contribute to boosting Regional Original Revenue (PAD). The health centers were also asked to strengthen national priority programs, such as accelerating the reduction of stunting rates and improving the quality of health services for mothers and children.
These reform steps are expected to realize the TTU Regency Government's commitment to providing professional, humanistic public services that are fully oriented toward community welfare for sustainable regional progress.
