The stigma of dominoes is slowly shifting towards it being recognized as an official competitive sport. This is reflected in the visit of the public broadcasting TVRI Samarinda team to the Secretariat of the Indonesian Domino Sports Association (ORADO) Branch Office of Bontang City to directly document the development of this brain-teaser sport.
The visit by the national television media aimed to cover the training activities of the athletes and the dynamics of the ORADO organization's development in Bontang. The Chairman of the Bontang ORADO Branch Office, Ilyas, welcomed the coverage team and deemed this momentum crucial for introducing structured domino sports to the wider public.
On this occasion, Ilyas emphasized that dominoes is not just a leisure game, but a sports discipline that demands high concentration, mature strategy formulation, sportsmanship, and mental sharpness. Through this coverage, he hopes that public understanding of the educational value and sportsmanship in domino sports will continue to increase.
While at the secretariat, the TVRI team witnessed match simulations firsthand and spoke with the board members and fostered athletes. ORADO Bontang reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to organize healthy competitions to recruit potential athletes from various backgrounds who are ready to make their region proud on a higher stage.
