The national-level student futsal tournament series, Wondr Futsal Series 2026, has officially opened in Surabaya, East Java. This prestigious competition, a collaboration between Games of Society and BNI, marks the beginning of a search for young talent that is planned to span dozens of cities in Indonesia, reaching as far as the Papua region.
This expansion is built upon the success of the 2025 season, which recorded extraordinary achievements. Throughout last year, the competition successfully organized 55 events ranging from high school to professional levels across 40 regional locations from Aceh to Papua. The tournament involved more than 1,000 high school teams and 16,000 athletes, drawing over 750,000 live spectators and generating a digital reach of 34 million on social media.
Beyond just focusing on the matches on the court, the Wondr Futsal Series is also actively taking an educational approach through its School Visit program. This annual program, targeting around 1,200 schools, aims to provide sports education, physical activation, and broaden students' horizons regarding career prospects in the professional futsal world.
CEO of Games of Society, Novel Leonardo, expressed his pride in the rapid growth of the company, which was founded in 2022. He emphasized that the sustainability of this competition is solely supported by self-commercialization schemes such as sponsorship, physical ticket sales, and private monetization, without relying on government budgets.
Furthermore, Novel explained that the Wondr Futsal Series is not just an ordinary tournament, but an ecosystem that actively involves parents, teachers, school principals, and youth communities. This synergy is also strengthened by technological integration, enabling hundreds of thousands of spectators to easily purchase tickets in large volumes through the wondr by BNI digital platform.
