Residents of Gunung Maddah Village, Sampang District, Sampang Regency, East Java, have expressed deep concern regarding the instability of the electricity supply in their area. This complaint arose because power outages have occurred repeatedly, and even for quite long durations in recent weeks.
One resident of Acenan Hamlet, Nasiruddin, revealed that electricity disruptions have become a chronic issue. He noted that within a single week, the electricity in his neighborhood went out four times. In fact, in a previous period, outages lasted for nearly three consecutive days.
Echoing Nasiruddin, another resident named Ayu Andira highlighted the negative impacts of these frequent outages. According to her, the unstable current not only disrupts daily activities but also triggers fears of damage to residents' electronic devices due to erratic voltage fluctuations.
Local residents are urging PT PLN (Persero) Sampang Customer Service Unit to immediately carry out serious and responsive infrastructure improvements. They hope for concrete action so that similar technical obstacles no longer continue to harm customers.
To date, neither the technicians nor the management of PLN in Sampang Regency have provided an official statement regarding the cause of the disruptions or the recovery steps that will be taken to address the public's complaints.
