A provincial administrative reform inspection team conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the Department of Science and Technology's performance throughout the first semester of 2026. This evaluation aimed to measure the effectiveness of the bureaucratic reform and digital transformation programs planned by the agency.
As of mid-year, the department reported significant progress, completing 16 out of 20 main tasks (equivalent to 80 percent) targeted for 2026. Meanwhile, the remaining four work programs are reported to still be on schedule and continuously being optimized for completion.
One of the most notable achievements was reflected in the public service sector. Out of a total of 128 administrative application files received during the first six months of 2026, all (100 percent) were successfully received and processed online without any reported delays in document completion.
Currently, the department manages at least 265 administrative procedures divided into 133 full online services, 40 partial online services, and 92 other procedures currently being standardized for integration into the National Public Service Portal. In the field of digital transformation, 6 out of 10 digital government system development targets have also been successfully completed.
Responding to these achievements, Deputy Head of the Department of Government Development and Administrative Reform, Nguyen Huu Duyen, appreciated the positive performance and requested the department's staff to continue maintaining and improving service quality. This step is expected to strengthen the agency's role in providing digital-based governance that facilitates the public and the business sector.
