The Lampung Regional Police (Polda Lampung) has taken preventive measures by erecting warning signs at several crucial points around the Mount Anak Krakatau area. This action responds to the increased volcanic activity of the mountain to ensure the safety of the public, fishermen, and tourists operating in the waters of the Sunda Strait.
The installation of warning signs was not only carried out around the mountain area but was also placed at major transit points such as Canti Pier, the Kalianda coast, and the Bom Kalianda Fishery Pier. This measure aims to ensure that information regarding activity restrictions reaches the general public broadly and effectively.
Head of Public Relations for Lampung Police, Senior Commissioner Yuni Iswandari Yuyun, emphasized the importance of complying with recommendations from volcanological authorities. According to her, the public must adhere to the established safe radius to avoid unwanted risks amidst the fluctuating activity of the volcano.
In addition to physical warning boards, the police have established intensive communication with the All-Indonesian Fishermen's Association (HNSI). This collaboration ensures that fishermen operating around Krakatau waters receive direct education to maintain a safe distance during the heightened volcanic activity.
Lampung Police assured that they will continue to conduct intensive monitoring and ongoing outreach along the coast. The public is urged to remain calm, stay updated on developments through official sources, and refrain from approaching the danger zone until conditions are declared normal by the authorities.
