The Riau Provincial Government recorded a surge in public participation in the free health check-up program. As of the end of June 2026, a total of 1,020,581 residents have received free health check services at various primary healthcare facilities in the region.
Head of the Riau Provincial Health Office, Zulkifli, revealed that this achievement is the accumulation of data up to the 26th week of 2026. According to him, this program is designed as the frontline in detecting early symptoms of disease so that medical treatment can be carried out more effectively and quickly.
Distribution data shows that Rokan Hulu Regency ranks first with participation reaching 24.7 percent, followed by Kampar Regency at 24.5 percent, and Dumai City at 20.1 percent. Meanwhile, coverage in Pekanbaru City is still in the range of 10 percent of the total target population.
To access this facility, the community does not need to go through complicated procedures. Residents only need to visit the nearest puskesmas (community health center) by bringing an identity card in the form of a Resident Identity Card (KTP) or Family Card (KK). Later, officers at the health center will assist participants in the registration process and filling out the necessary forms.
Currently, the Riau Provincial Government has prepared 243 health centers spread across all regencies and cities to serve the program. The Health Office urges all levels of society to take advantage of this opportunity at least once a year to maintain health and minimize the risk of future disease complications.
