SUNGAILIAT - The Bangka Regency Government is exploring a strategic partnership with waste management solution provider PT Wasteforchange Enjiring Teknologi. This step was taken to formulate a more effective and sustainable waste management formula in the region. The exploration began with an audience meeting between the Acting Regional Secretary of Bangka Regency, Asep Setiawan, and company representatives in the Bangka Regent's office on Thursday (30/7/2026).
During the meeting, the Acting Regional Secretary was accompanied by the Head of the Bangka Regency Environmental Agency (DLH), Boy Yandra, and the Acting Head of the Bangka Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR), Aristian. This tactical discussion focused on mapping crucial waste problems and finding appropriate technological solutions for the people of Bangka.
Asep Setiawan expressed appreciation for the initiatives and proposed solutions offered by the private sector. According to him, the biggest challenge in cleanliness management currently lies not only in the provision of physical facilities but also in the low awareness of some people in disposing of waste. Asep hopes that this partnership will not only introduce processing technology but also educate residents to be more caring about the surrounding environment.
Responding to this, the Head of the Engineering and Design Business Unit of PT Wasteforchange Enjiring Teknologi, Baginda, confirmed his team's readiness to collaborate intensively with DLH Bangka. He explained that the offered program focuses on independent management that minimizes dependence on the Regional Budget (APBD).
Baginda explained that the main method to be promoted is the optimization of waste sorting directly at the source. Before implementing specific technologies, Wasteforchange will first conduct an in-depth study to map the composition and volume of waste on the ground, so that the system implemented later is truly targeted and efficient.
