Defending Serie A champions Inter Milan began their pre-season friendly campaign with a highly convincing result. Traveling to Germany for a training camp, the squad led by Cristian Chivu successfully routed lower-division club SV Aasen with a resounding 16-0 scoreline in a friendly match.
This Nerazzurri training camp is based in the Donaueschingen area of Germany. Prior to this first friendly match, the Inter squad had undergone intensive training sessions twice a day since the beginning of the week to restore the players' physical condition ahead of the new competitive season.
In the match, Inter Milan implemented a rotation strategy by fielding two different line-ups in each half. This move was made to integrate the key pillars of the senior team with promising young talents from the club's academy. The strategy proved highly effective, yielding six goals in the first half and ten additional goals in the second half.
Young Italian national team forward Francesco Pio Esposito was the star of the show, bagging five goals in the second half. Before Esposito's goal fest began, Davide Frattesi opened Inter's lead with two quick goals early in the match, followed by a hat-trick from 20-year-old Luka Topalovic, and a goal from Mattia Mosconi before the break.
Inter's dominance became even more unstoppable after the interval. Aside from Esposito's goal rush, Inter's winning margin was further extended by two goals each from Andy Diouf and Jamal Iddrissou, and a final goal from their reliable wing-back, Federico Dimarco.
