The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Tulang Bawang Regency has turned the commemoration of Palapa Satellite Day, which falls on July 9, into a strategic momentum to accelerate digital transformation in the election supervision system. This step was taken to ensure a democratic process that is more transparent, accountable, and inclusive for all people.
The Chairman of Bawaslu Tulang Bawang, Inda Fiska Mahendro, stated that current advancements in communication technology are vital instruments that must be optimally utilized. According to him, digitalization is not just an innovation but a necessity in building an effective supervision system and expanding public access to election-related information.
"The spirit of Palapa Satellite Day serves as a reminder for us to continue prioritizing freedom of information. We are committed to providing fast and accountable services, so that every stage of the election can be supervised with the active participation of all elements of society," Inda said in his statement, Thursday (9/7/2026).
Furthermore, Inda invited the public to be wiser in using digital space as the main channel to obtain valid information. He emphasized that adequate digital literacy will shield the public from exposure to misleading information, while simultaneously strengthening election integrity in this current era of openness.
