During the 80th Bhayangkara Day celebration held at Satlat Brimob Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday (1/7/2026), National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo detailed the police force's impressive law enforcement achievements throughout 2026. One of the main highlights was the successful uncovering of 24,837 narcotics cases involving 32,792 suspects.
Evidence secured from the drug networks includes 3.1 tons of crystal meth, 4.1 tons of marijuana, 763,000 ecstasy pills, and 59.2 million prescription-only hard drugs. In total, the economic value of all narcotics evidence is estimated at Rp10.4 trillion, a move the police claim has saved approximately 89 million lives from drug abuse.
In addition to firm enforcement, the police are now prioritizing a preventive approach by transforming 148 previously vulnerable areas into 'Drug-Free Villages'. Cross-sectoral synergy has also been strengthened through the formation of the State Revenue Optimization Task Force and the Smuggling Crime Law Enforcement Task Force, collaborating with the Ministry of Finance to crack down on export leaks and illegal smuggling.
On the other hand, the police also recorded significant success in combating online gambling. A total of 718 online gambling cases were uncovered, with total asset seizures valued at Rp1.75 trillion. In addition to blocking over 278,000 gambling websites, the police dismantled an international syndicate by securing 291 foreign nationals proven to manage hundreds of illegal domains.
Closing his report, the Police Chief emphasized that Indonesia has maintained its 'zero terrorist attack' status since 2023. The police's commitment to continuing the integration of a humanistic approach and measured legal action is expected to guarantee national security stability in the future.
