The Mayor of Tanjungpinang, H. Lis Darmansyah, officially launched a drip irrigation system based on the utilization of ablution (wudhu) water and grey water at SMA Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang on Tuesday (4/8). The system is an Appropriate Technology (TTG) innovation developed by Community Service Program (KKN) students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
In his speech, Lis Darmansyah expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication and scientific contribution of the UGM students towards the development of his region. He assessed that this ablution water recycling program is a tangible solution that is not only environmentally friendly but also addresses practical needs within the school environment.
Furthermore, Lis encouraged SMA Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang and related institutions to continue opening opportunities for collaboration with higher education institutions. Synergy between academia, government, and the community is considered crucial in generating various applicable innovations that support sustainable development in Tanjungpinang City.
At the end of his address, the Mayor also advised the KKN students to maximize the remainder of their service period. He hopes they will continue to pass on inspiration, motivation, and creative ideas to the local youth before their assignment ends.
