The growing sport trend of pickleball is now receiving a more structured development platform in Balikpapan. DK Pickleball has officially launched a coaching program specifically aimed at beginners who want to learn the basic techniques of the game in depth.

Training sessions are centered at the BJBJ Stadium Arena in Balikpapan and are scheduled to take place every Monday and Wednesday, from 20:00 to 22:00 WITA. The program is led by coach Andi Indra Wijaya, supported by assistant coach A. Muh. Fadhin and manager Dewi Karmila.

Andi Indra Wijaya explained that this initiative aims to introduce pickleball to the general public, rather than to form an exclusive club. "We focus on providing education on basic techniques so that it is easy to understand for participants playing for the first time," he said.

To date, interest in the program has been dominated by students, with 12 participants recorded from elementary and junior high school levels, as well as five adult participants. According to Andi, pickleball is an inclusive sport because it combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, making it enjoyable for various age groups.

To cater to the public's enthusiasm, the organizers offer various class options, ranging from monthly programs and pay-per-session practices to private classes. Participants who do not yet have equipment are provided with paddles on loan during the training sessions.

For those interested in joining, registration can be done by contacting Dewi at 085386444819 or Andi Indra at 085255950844. Through this program, DK Pickleball hopes to build a foundation for young athletes while increasing sports participation rates in Balikpapan City.
