Commission IV of the Bengkulu Provincial Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) made a working visit to the Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) of Rejang Lebong Regency on Thursday (July 2, 2026) to directly inspect the condition of sports infrastructure and the local athlete development roadmap. This meeting is crucial amid regional efforts to maintain sports achievements despite budget efficiency challenges.
Head of Rejang Lebong Dispora, Rezza Pahlevie, explained that several vital facilities, such as the Muna Tirta Swimming Pool, currently require urgent repairs to remain suitable for athlete training. In addition to infrastructure constraints, Dispora is adapting to budget limitations by prioritizing individual sports such as karate and pencak silat, which are considered more efficient for achieving success at the 2026 POPDA and Porprov events.
On the other hand, Rejang Lebong Dispora has integrated an athlete data collection system through the digital application "Siswalet". This innovation received appreciation from the Chairman of Commission IV of the Bengkulu Provincial DPRD, Usin Abdisyah Putra Sembiring, who assessed that digital achievement data is crucial for athletes' futures, including leveraging academic achievement tracks.
Responding to aspirations regarding the revitalization of sports facilities, Usin encouraged the local government to explore funding schemes through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. His side is committed to bridging communication between Dispora, KONI, and relevant stakeholders so that infrastructure needs and sports development in Rejang Lebong can be realized promptly through more intensive coordination.
