The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at UIN Alauddin Makassar continues to spur impactful research traditions for the community. This step was realized through an International Expert Lecture titled 'Implementation Science and Research Process Evaluation' held on Friday (3/7/2026), as an effort to enhance the academic competence of the academic community in producing evidence-based innovations.
The event, held in the Senate Room of the UIN Alauddin Rectorate, featured three international health experts: Prof. Dominique Cadilhac, Ph.D., Dr. Tara Purvis, Ph.D., and Dr. Ani Auli Ilmi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Kom. The main focus of the discussion was on the importance of shifting the research paradigm from merely fulfilling scientific publications to providing practical solutions in the health sector.
Dean of FKIK UIN Alauddin Makassar, Dr. dr. Dewi Setiawati, Sp.OG., M.Kes., emphasized that the *implementation science* approach is crucial in bridging laboratory findings with public policy. According to her, cross-border collaboration is a key strategy for the faculty to expand research reach capable of addressing real health issues in the field.
In her presentation, Prof. Dominique Cadilhac emphasized that the effectiveness of research is largely determined by its ability to be applied in the real world. Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Tara Purvis highlighted the importance of continuous research process evaluation as an instrument to minimize obstacles when programs are implemented within the healthcare ecosystem.
This event serves as a strategic momentum for lecturers and students to deepen their insights into modern research methods. With an expanding commitment to international collaboration, FKIK UIN Alauddin Makassar hopes to build an excellent, adaptive research ecosystem that makes a real contribution to improving public health quality.
