Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut reasserted its role in the local economic empowerment ecosystem by holding the 'Go Global Academy' program. The event, which took place from June 29 to 30, 2026, in Pekanbaru, was specially designed to enhance the capacity of 10 foster partner MSMEs to be highly competitive on the international stage.
The sectors involved in this training include eight MSMEs in the culinary field and two MSMEs from the creative economy sector. The participants, who are part of the Pertamina State-Owned Enterprises House (Rumah BUMN Pertamina) ecosystem and alumni of the 2025 UMK Academy, received comprehensive mentoring ranging from product standardization, business legality, and branding to customs regulations and export readiness.
Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, explained that this program is part of the company's commitment to building a resilient business foundation. Through business clinic sessions and direct discussions with experts, MSME actors were guided to integrate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability principles into their operations.
MSME actors welcomed this initiative enthusiastically. Citra Sari, owner of Laksamana Snack, expressed that the material provided was highly relevant for business owners targeting the export market. Echoing this sentiment, the owner of Permata Food, Suryani, admitted that continuous mentoring from Pertamina has provided valuable experience, ranging from production system improvements to promotional opportunities through various national-scale exhibitions.
This initiative focuses not only on business growth but also aligns with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, supporting decent work and national economic growth. With this capacity building, local Indonesian products are expected to gain a stronger presence and bring pride to the global market in the future.
